XM10 America Hosts Big Al Downing
In Its First-Ever LIVE Concert Broadcast

Nashville, TN (July 17, 2003) - - XM10 America hosts Big Al Downing
and Rio Drive in a live concert broadcast on Wednesday, August 6.
This is the first-ever LIVE broadcast for the channel, which has
hosted pre-recorded concerts by Kathy Mattea and Suzy Bogguss. Available
to network listeners nationwide, this special performance will take
place at the XMSatellite Studios in Washington, DC. Big Al will
play selections from his newly-released CD, ONE OF KIND (Hayden's
Ferry Records), along with many of his signature tunes from 2 -
3 p.m. Eastern.
Later than evening (8pm-midnight), Big Al will join Country Dan
Dixon as a guest DJ. Dixon describes Downing as, "The best
kept secret in Country Music for over twenty years! He doesn't just
sing his songs, he becomes them. If you like country music that
gets into your heart and soul and gives you something to think about,
then ONE OF A KIND is one you will listen to again and again from
beginning to end."
Known for his mega-hits, "Mr. Jones" and "Touch
Me," Downing says, "This is really exciting for me. I
love the new technology - this is very cool." Downing has been
doing very cool things for a very long time. In over five decades
of entertaining, he has received Billboard's New Artist of the Year
and Single of the Year Awards (1979) and charted 27 additional records.
He has performed for audiences in the U.S., Japan, Germany, Switzerland,
Sweden, England, Holland, France, the Bahama and Cayman Islands.
Currently, he's featured in the July/August issue of No Depression
magazine and will soon be featured in Country Weekly magazine.
